Frequently Asked Questions

What brands of Paint do you use?
Dulux, Wattyl, Bristol and Taubmans and Paints.  Premium quality paints which come with a 10-year manufactures warranty.   No trade paints are used.

Do I have to use your paints?

As-Nu Group of Trades uses the above mentioned premium paints, however you have another preference or already purchased paint, we will gladly use the paint of your choice.

Is my job to big or to small?
As-Nu Group of Trades has a variety of team sizes to suit all job sizes.  We can supply a one-man team for small jobs or a team of five men for big jobs.

Is scaffolding provided?
No, by law Painters are not permitted to erect scaffolding.  Scaffolding must be erected by a qualified licensed rigger, which you pay directly should your home require scaffolding.

I would like my house painted but I am unsure of colours?
As-Nu Group of Trades works in conjunction with a qualified experience Colour Consultant.  The Colour Consultant can assist you select your interior and exterior colours.  See the Colour Consultancy page for more details.

Why are you called As-Nu Group of Trades?
Brothers Cliff and Ron Dopper originally operated As-Nu Group of Trades with Cliff Dopper being a licensed Painter and Ron Dopper a Builder, they worked on many joint home renovation projects but 2005 the brothers parted ways with Ron Dopper leaving to work on an independent build projects.

Stuart Dopper, son of Cliff Dopper and third generation painter took over the management of As-Nu Group of Trades in 2005 and choose to re-direct the business to focus on simply What We Do Best with Interior and Exterior Painting and Decorating.  Today, we are still able to provide other trades to work on our job sites such as Electrical and Maintenance Carpentry for more information please speak to your Consultant during your Obligation Free Appointment.

The last painter we used was terrible, how can you assure me you won’t be the same? 

As-NU Group of Trades has 10-years experience painting residential homes. We have developed a seven-stage process where clients sign off each part of their job, we ask our customers to watch all stages of work from preparation to completion.  This process gives our clients insurance they get the job they deserve.  The sign-off forms include: Touch-up form, Releasement forms, customer feedback forms.  We will guarantee to address the issue and fix it before our tradesmen leave the site.

Will my garden be ok?
Yes, plants and garden vegetation will be covered or tied back when required.   We will not cut plants “I’ve worked for too many fussy gardeners”. Please indicate to the Teams Supervisor before commencement if you have any specific gardening requirements.

What do I need to do to get ready for our job?
Move all fragile and valuable items away from the area being paintied e.g. TV, stereo, photos, breakable or books.

What do I need during my job?
Plastic and canvas drop sheets are used however striping and sanding off old painting is dusty work, so if you have fragile and important items please remove them from the area being painted.

What do I need to know after my job?
Paint takes 30 days to cure properly, please close and open your windows daily to prevent sticking.
